Yeeboo Digital was asked to design and build a custom crowdfunding website for BC SPCA’s Medical Emergency animal fund pages. When an animal arrives needing urgent or extraordinary care, the Medical Emergency program brings animal-lovers together to help, with funds raised on each animal’s page going directly to cover all medical costs.
BC SPCA needed a dedicated crowdfunding platform to rally donors around individual animals requiring urgent or extraordinary medical care. Each animal’s fund page had to make it easy for supporters to give, engage, and spread the word so that funds could go directly toward covering that animal’s medical costs.
BC SPCA selected Blackbaud’s TeamRaiser as the backend platform. Although TeamRaiser had originally been built to serve peer-to-peer event-style fundraising websites, the team at Yeeboo Digital adapted its use for crowdfunding.
Each animal’s fund page enabled users to donate, add comments via Facebook login, and share the page across social media platforms, extending the reach of every campaign.
The adapted TeamRaiser build gave BC SPCA a flexible crowdfunding experience purpose-built for individual animal fund pages. Supporters could contribute, comment, and share with ease, driving donations directly to the animals in need of medical care.
