Project Overview

Threads of Life partnered with Yeeboo Digital to modernize the digital experience for Steps for Life, their national peer-to-peer fundraising event. Using our in-house TeamRaiser template, we delivered a bilingual, multi-location platform that connects communities and simplifies participation. It reflects the heart of their mission by supporting families affected by workplace tragedy.

  1. Challenge

The existing TeamRaiser site had an outdated design and limited mobile responsiveness that both users and staff found clunky and frustrating, and it only supported English, limiting national reach and excluding French-speaking participants. Participants struggled to find their local event and complete sign-up, especially when events varied by format or date.

The search tool made it difficult for users to find specific participants or teams, adding friction to the donation process, while staff had to manually manage more than 30 regional events. These challenges limited growth and made it harder to reflect the compassion, clarity, and professionalism that define the mission.

  2. Solution

Yeeboo Digital implemented our custom front-end TeamRaiser template and tailored it to Steps for Life, styling it to align with the event’s visual identity and ensuring the site adapts beautifully to mobile, tablet, and desktop. We created parallel English and French versions covering all participant-facing content, navigation, and interface elements, and introduced a guided registration experience that helps users choose their location and register quickly.

We added a custom national search feature so donors can find specific individuals, teams, or memorial pages, and built a national homepage with blueprint event pages for 33 locations that staff can replicate and manage using a standard structure and clear documentation. The platform meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards for a consistent, inclusive experience.

  3. Results

Participants can now register in less time and with fewer steps, encouraging more people to sign up, while full support for both English and French creates a welcoming experience for a broader audience across Canada. Donors can easily search for and support the people and teams that matter most, increasing the impact of each gift.

Internal teams can manage dozens of events with less effort, greater consistency, and more confidence, and the flexible, branded system gives Threads of Life a stronger foundation to scale the event and deepen its national reach year after year.
