Threads of Life partnered with Yeeboo Digital to transform their outdated, static website into a modern, accessible, and bilingual platform. Together we built a digital experience that reflects the heart of their mission and strengthens how they engage with families impacted by workplace tragedy. It also gives their team the tools to manage content with clarity and confidence.
The previous site was significantly outdated in both design and functionality, with slow load times, frequent downtime, and a lack of responsiveness across devices. It did not reflect the supportive and caring tone of the organization, and its cumbersome backend was hard to navigate and prone to errors.
The French-language version was only partially translated and inconsistently updated, while the events section was difficult to navigate, with limited clarity around dates, formats, and registration. Because the sensitive nature of the work meant the organization could not rely heavily on imagery, clear structure, supportive messaging, and accessible design were even more important.
We led a collaborative WordPress redesign using a modern custom content blocks framework, beginning with discovery sessions to map user journeys, identify key content types, and build a content strategy supporting impact, engagement, and usability. The design approach focused on warmth and clarity, using thoughtful typography, whitespace, and concise messaging rather than imagery to reflect the organization’s supportive spirit.
We developed reusable content blocks and a custom, easy-to-use calendar that separates virtual, in-person, and multi-day events, alongside a complete bilingual setup compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. The backend interface was simplified, and staff received training and custom documentation to manage and grow the site confidently.
The redesigned site is now quick to load, responsive across devices, and dependable for everyday use, with a design and structure that reflect the compassion and care defining Threads of Life’s work. English and French content is fully aligned, with improved accessibility for all users.
Visitors can quickly understand what events are happening and how to participate, while staff manage events more efficiently and with greater confidence. The supportive user journey guides visitors to key actions like seeking support, subscribing to updates, or donating within a clear and comforting environment.
